Getting your property ready for a professional real estate photo shoot is important when marketing properties today, so doing a great job in making it look its best will certainly pay off in the end.

Outside:

Make sure the driveway & entryway are free of clutter. Cars and trash cans should be hidden in the garage, and the garage door should be closed.
Front and back yard, patio should be neat. Patio furniture should be cleaned and set up. During Fall and Winter keep the sidewalks cleared of leaves or snow. During cold months (off season) Patio furniture should be hidden.

Inside your home:

Living Areas: Remove personal items you do not want photographed. Remove clutter and tidy up the shelves, tables, couches etc. Move excess furniture out of rooms. Replace burnt out light bulbs with matching bulbs.
Kitchen: Clean off kitchen counters; remove spices, trays, pots, pans, food! Make sure dirty/clean dishes are out of the sink & put away. Hide the garbage cans for the time of the photo shoot.

Bathrooms: Put essential items used daily in a small box that can be stored away. Close toilet lid and hide the garbage cans.
Clean mirrors & glass surfaces. Hang towels neatly from towel bar.

During the photo shoot:

When the photographer arrives check the basics around the house, just to make sure the house is clutter-free and and ready for the photo shoot.
Turn on the lights, turn off the ceiling fans, adjust window blinds and curtains. Try not to be in the room the photographer is photographing as you may end up in the photo.
If you can see the camera then the camera can see you. 😉
